Really great movie John Ford created a true masterpiece for us. It's certainly one of the most interesting movies of 1959 year. It is a movie that truly knows what it is and wastes not even a second in conveying what that is. The Horse Soldiers is movie, you will watch whole, more than once. The story is really solid, the pacing is great, and all of the actors give great performances. It is proof of that - a film to be great doesn't need expensive special effects. - just superlative acting. I want to recommend this movie to everyone, you will be satisfied after watching.... A Union Cavalry outfit is sent behind Confederate lines in strength to destroy a rail / supply center. Along with them is sent a doctor who causes instant antipathy between him and the commander. The secret plan for the mission is overheard by a southern belle who must be taken along to assure her silence. The Union officers each have different reasons for wanting to be on the mission.
